The Integrity Division of the Commission was established on 17 October 2013 following the decision of the SKM Board of Directors Meeting No. 5/2013, which agreed to adopt Service Circular Number 6 of 2013 regarding the establishment of Integrity Units in all public agencies. The meeting also agreed to merge the Internal Audit Unit and the Integrity Unit under the name "Integrity and Internal Audit Unit." On 27 February 2014, the SKM Board of Directors Meeting No. 1/2014 decided to separate the Integrity Unit and the Internal Audit Unit. In May 2014, the unit was restructured as the Integrity Division. The establishment of this Division represents an internal control initiative by the agency to manage integrity within the organisation and to serve as the focal point for managing integrity-related issues across all public agencies. The Division is divided into two (2) units as follows:

i. Governance Strengthening & Compliance Unit
ii. Complaints Management, Detection, Verification & Disciplinary Unit

The objective of this Division is to develop a quality human capital that is knowledgeable, skilled, ethical, with integrity, and responsible in carrying out duties in accordance with the Commission’s Code of Ethics and Core Values. Additionally, the Division aims to fulfill the Government’s aspirations in achieving the direction of the National Integrity Agenda and to ensure excellence in public service governance in line with the National Integrity Plan (PIN).

The Division is responsible for carrying out six (6) core functions as follows:

• To ensure the implementation of best governance practices;
• To ensure the cultivation, institutionalisation, and implementation of integrity within the organisation;
• To conduct detection and verification of criminal misconduct complaints as well as breaches of organisational conduct and ethics, and to ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken and reports of criminal misconduct are made;
• To receive and act on all complaints related to criminal misconduct and breaches of organisational conduct and ethics;
• To ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; and
• To serve as the secretariat for the Disciplinary Committee.
