A cooperative is an organization established with the objective of enhancing the economic interests of its members in accordance with cooperative principles. Any individual intending to register a cooperative must first contact the Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission (SKM) in their respective area to obtain guidance and advice regarding the cooperative registration process.
1. Guidelines for completing the online cooperative registration form are provided in the table below.
2. A Letter of Registration Approval will be issued within three (3) working days, and applicants may check and print the letter online.
3. The Commission will provide applicants with a Cooperative Registration Kit as a reference for the registration process which includes:

4. The validity period for the registration approval letter is thirty (30) working days, within which the applicant must convene the initial general meeting.
5. The Commission may grant an extension of the registration approval period upon receiving a formal request from the applicant.
6. The applicant must set the date of the initial general meeting and issue the meeting notice within a reasonable time frame to all eligible prospective members.
7. The applicant must submit the cooperative registration application form and all related documents to the Commission no later than two weeks (14 working days) from the date of the initial general meeting.
1. Applicants are required to submit the cooperative registration application form and all relevant documents to the Commission using the following methods:
(a) uploading the documents online via the e-Daftar system (https://edaftar.skm.gov.my); and
(b) submitting a hard copy to the respective Regional or State Office of the Commission.
2. The documents that must be uploaded through the e-Daftar system and submitted to the Commission are as follows: (a) One copy of the cooperative registration application form, signed by the following parties:

(d) Cooperative Registration Fee Form.
The applicant is required to pay a cooperative registration fee of RM100.00 (One Hundred Malaysian Ringgit Only) in the form of cash/ postal order/money order/ cheque made payable to “Kumpulan Wang Operasi SKM”.
