STATEMENT BY SKM

The Commission has received complaints from the public regarding the actions of an individual who claims to be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a co-operative called KOPERASI USAHAWAN MELAYU MALAYSIA BERHAD which is currently actively recruiting members in Johor by imposing a registration fee of RM15.00 per person to be banked into accounts of designated individuals. This scheme promises business assistance of up to RM5,000.00 to eligible members after the screening process.

The Commission has been investigating the activities of this individual and would like to inform that KOPERASI USAHAWAN MELAYU MALAYSIA BERHAD has never been registered with the Commission and no person can claim to be the CEO or representative of an unregistered co-operative. Therefore any promotions involving this individual and entity has nothing to do with the co-operative society.

In this regard, the Commission reminds the public to be vigilant and cautious and not fall prey to any financing offers or other unreasonable offers using the name of co-operative.
