STATEMENT BY SKM

The Commission has received complaints from the public regarding the actions of an individual who claims to be an officer to KOPERASI 1MALAYSIA BERHAD (KOP1M) and promoting through Facebook (FB) that the Co-operative offers the 1Malaysia Personal Loan Scheme by requiring the applicant to pay the minimum loan cost of RM300 subject to the loan amount applied. This loan cost should be banked into the individual’s account to allow immediate loan approval in less than 24 hours.

The commission has investigated on the scheme offered and would like to inform that KOP1M is not allowed to conduct personal financing activities and has never offered the financing scheme mentioned above either via co-operative or any individuals or agents to carry out these activities.

In this regard, the Commission reminds the public to be vigilant and cautious and not fall prey to any financing offers or other unreasonable offers using the name of KOP1M or any other registered co-operatives without first obtaining approval from the commission.
